What is mean by Drug Regulatory Authorities and what are there Roles:

Drug Regulatory Authorities are a government authorities have responsibility for granting  licenses, approvals, authorizations as like NDA/ANDA or granting pricing or reimbursement approvals necessary for the marketing and sale of pharmaceutical products in his regulatory jurisdiction.

Different countries having his own Regulatory authorities to ensure drug products consuming by Humans/ veterinary should mitigate the quality, Safety, efficacy and Security as per standards. In addition to that Regulatory authorities will have the overall responsibility to promote , ensure and monitor compliance by approved ethics committees in a country with relevant legislation, regulations and guidelines.

Before exporting the product to different countries, Drug Regulatory authorities inspect the exporting manufacturing site and Submitted documents for Specified exporting drug product and after  getting approval only will able to send/deliver the specific drug products of different countries

Examples Like :

For USA – USFDA  (United States Food and Drug Administration) is responsible for protecting the public health by ensuring the quality, safety, efficacy, and security of human  and veterinary Drugs.

For India : CDSCO (Central Drugs Standard Control Organization) is responsible for protecting the public health by ensuring the quality, safety, efficacy, and security of human  and veterinary Drugs
