SOP for employee selection in pharmaceutical industry
I. Purpose & Scope:
- The purpose of this Sop to provide guidelines and procedure to meet the requirement of Employee selection
- This Standard operating procedure shall be applicable for Human Resources and Administration Department
II. Responsibilities:
• All Human Resources and Administration personnel shall be responsible to follow and implement this SOP.
III : Introduction and Procedural Part:
Procedure for for employee selection in pharmaceutical industry :
PROCEDURE:
- HR Manager shall receive the applications either support from web by add in job portal or referred from staff.
- HR Manager shall sort out candidates and submit to Technical Head for sorting applications after reviewing technical aspects.
- Educational qualification Required for employment as follows:

- Operator- should have passed least ITI/Diploma holder
- Officer (Production)- B. Pharma /M Pharma/B.Sc./M.Sc.
- Executive Production – B Pharma /M Pharma having experience in related field.
- Assistant Manager/Manager Production – B. Pharma having Minimum 8 years experience in relevant field.
- Officer(QA) – B. Pharma /M Pharma/B.Sc./M.Sc.
- Executive (QA) – B Pharma /M Pharma having 5 years experience in related field.
- Assistant Manager/Manager QA – B Pharma /M Pharma having 8 years experience in related field.
- Officer(QC Chemical) – B.Sc./M.Sc./B. Pharma/M. Pharma in organic chemistry ,analytical Chemistry
- Officer/ Executive (QC microbiology) – B. Tech/B.Sc./M.Sc. in Microbiology/B. Pharma/M. Pharma having experience in Microbiology section.
- Other Staff/Officer – Diploma or Degree in respective field.

- Personal should have good background with appropriate experiences.
- Fresher’s should have scored at last 50% mark in his/her academics.
- All new positions shall be filled from head office or from site as per requirement.
- In case of opening of position due to resignation, personnel department shall co-ordinate with HOD’s to fulfill the vacant position.
- Human resources department head shall source appropriate resume for screening and short listing.
- Human resources department head shall send the list and resume of shortlisted candidates to the head office.
- At Head office or at Site, Human resources department head and respective technical department head shall take the interview of the candidate.
- On the basis of interview, final decision for employee selection shall be initiated.
- After final negotiations, offer letter shall be issued to the candidate by the Human resources department.
- After selection, the candidate shall be sent for medical examination by the company’s authorized Doctor before joining at site.
- After acceptance of the offer by the candidates, Head HR notifies to respective HOD’s and key staff of the other department.
- The selected candidates shall report to Human resource department and respective department head at the plant and submit required documents as directed.
- An induction programmed shall be conducted for the employee as per respective plant SOP.
- After induction Training employee shall be handed over to the respective Departments Heads for the Further departmental Trainings.
- The employee shall also attend various cGMP and other training programme/sessions organized by the management from time to time to update his/her skills and knowledge.
