Sop for Heating Mantle

I. Purpose & Scope:

• The purpose of this SOP is to lay down the procedure for operation and calibration of Heating Mantle
• This Standard operating procedure shall be applicable for operation and calibration of Heating Mantle used in Quality control laboratory

II. Responsibilities:

• All Quality control personnel shall be responsible to follow and implement this SOP.

III : Introduction and Procedural Part:

General Cleaning :

• Clean the heating mantle with a clean dry cloth every day. Occasionally outer surface with wet cloth dipped in dilute soap solution may be used.
• Precautions has to be taken to clean the instrument immediately with dry cloth to remove the moisture.

Basic Operation :

• Switch ON the main supply of Heating Mantle.
• The red colour display indicate the Heating Mantle is on,
•  Set the desired temperature by using thermostat knob
•  Put required preparation on Heating Mantle for heating
• Take care at the time of heating sample should not spill on heater.
• Switch off the Heating Mantle after the use.

  Calibration :

• Calibration Frequency: Calibration done by external Agency once in Year.
