1. Description:

Following visual checking to be carried out

Procedure: Examine the Plastic container (High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)/ Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE)/ Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET, PETE or polyester)) in day light for appearance. Round/square shape plastic container (High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)/ Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE)/ Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET, PETE or polyester)). Free from dust or any foreign particles.

There should not be any deformity in containers.

2. Weight of container:

Test to be performed on maximum five samples

Instrument: Analytical Balance

Procedure: Weigh the containers without cap on analytical balance.

3. Weight of cap:

(Test to be performed on maximum five samples)

Instrument: Analytical Balance

Procedure: Weigh the cap on analytical balance.

4. Neck outer diameter (OD) of container:

(Test to be performed on maximum five samples)

Instrument: Vernier caliper

Procedure: Measure the Neck OD of container by using Vernier caliper.

5. Neck inner diameter (ID) of container:

(Test to be performed on maximum five samples)

Instrument: Vernier calliper

Procedure: Measure the Neck ID of container by using Vernier caliper

6. Body diameter of container:

(Test to be performed on maximum five samples)

Instrument: Vernier calliper

Procedure: Measure the Body diameter of container by using Vernier caliper.

7.Length of container:

(Test to be performed on maximum five samples)

Instrument: Vernier calliper

Procedure: Measure the Length of container by using Vernier caliper.

8. Width of container:

(Test to be performed on maximum five samples)

Instrument: Vernier calliper

Procedure: Measure the Width of container by using Vernier caliper.

9. Height of container:

Instrument: Vernier calliper

Procedure: Measure the Height of container without cap by using Vernier caliper.

10. Outer diameter (OD) of cap:

Instrument: Vernier calliper

Procedure: Measure the OD of cap by using Vernier caliper.

11. Neck inner diameter (ID) of cap:

(Test to be performed on maximum five samples)

Instrument: Vernier calliper

Procedure: Measure the Neck ID of cap by using Vernier caliper.

12. Height of cap:

(Test to be performed on maximum five samples)

Instrument: Vernier calliper

Procedure: Measure the Height of cap by using Vernier caliper.

13. Thickness of wad:

(Test to be performed on maximum five samples)

Instrument: Vernier caliper

Procedure: Measure the Thickness of wad by using Vernier caliper.

14. Diameter of wad:

(Test to be performed on maximum five samples)

Instrument: Vernier caliper

Procedure: Measure the Diameter of wad by using Vernier caliper

Note down the results in test data sheet

Over flow capacity of container:

(Test to be performed on maximum five samples)

Equipment: Measuring cylinder

Procedure: Fill the container with water up to brimful

Then transfer the water in measuring cylinder and measure the volume in ml.

16. Performance criteria:

Procedure: Container and cap should fit with each other perfectly.
