SOP for Decartoning and cleaning of Tubes and Jars

I. Purpose & Scope:

• The Purpose of this SOP is to lay down the procedure for Decartoning and cleaning of Tubes and Jars which is required for filling of external preparations.
• This procedure is applicable to production manufacturing and packing Department personnel for Decartoning and cleaning of Tubes and Jars

II. Responsibilities:

• All production and packing personnel shall be responsible to follow and implement this SOP.

III . Introduction and Procedural Part :

Procedure :

• Transfer the carton containing tubes/jars to cleaning room.
• Open the carton and remove the tubes /jars.
• Clean the tube by tapping the end point of tube on white paper then keep the empty tube in the cassette.
• Visually inspect for absence of particulate
• Check the printing details on the tubes.
• Remove damage tubes / jars.
• Transfer cleaned tubes/jars in covered crates to filling room.
• Record the rejected tubes/jars in the respective BPR.
