SOP for workmen selection in pharmaceutical industry
I. Purpose & Scope:
- The purpose of this Sop to provide guidelines and procedure to meet the requirement of external workers/casual labors
- This Standard operating procedure shall be applicable for Human Resources and Administration Department
II. Responsibilities:
• All Human Resources and Administration personnel shall be responsible to follow and implement this SOP.
III : Introduction and Procedural Part:
Procedure for for workmen selection in pharmaceutical industry :
Selection of Contractors :
- Locate contractors in the nearby areas.
- Evaluate the background of the contractors.
- Select one or more contractors as per requirement.
- Request the specified contractor to visit the site.
- Check that the contractor meets all the legal compliances, e.g. Service Tax, PF No., ESI, etc.
- If the contractor qualifies all the criteria then will make an agreement with the contractor to provide casual workers/labors.
- Make aware all the casual workers/labors under contractor about factory administration and safety policy.
- Monitor that the contractor follows all the terms and conditions agreed upon.
Selection of Casual Workers :
- Workers must be minimum qualification of 12th PASS.
- After selection of workers, workers shall be trained on Personnel hygiene, behavioral & GMP practices before allotting in the respective department. if they are allocating to work in the GMP areas.
- Workers shall be initially trained for handling material movements to secondary packing.
- After continual activity, workers shall be given for handling products after imparting on the job training.
- After successful completion and certification on the job training for contractual workers, They can be able to work in GMP Areas.
- Periodic cGMP training shall be provided to the Causal workers.
